Winona Costin rode DEVIATE to VICTORY at Scone on Friday the 14th of December 2018. This filly has just returned from a spell to win first up in a very strong 2 year old race. It is exciting to see this filly win in the manner she did as this confirms to us to continue with the plan to race this filly in the Magic Millions 2 year old Race in January 2019. She will race at Randwick on Saturday the 29th of December 2018 with all going well she will then head to the Gold Coast Magic Millions for the 2 year old race on Saturday the 12th of January 2019.
It just goes to show that if you dare to dream, you can make it into these big races. We only purchased 4 horses out of the Magic Millions this year, with all 4 being aimed towards the 2 year old race on the 12th of January, It looks like we could be lucky enough to have 1 run in the race.
We would like to congratulate John and Sandra Harding on their great victory at Scone with this little filly that has given the stable and its followers a great thrill and we are all excited to see this filly progress at Randwick on the 29th of December 2018.

Thompson Racing took home 2 from 2 at the Forbes Race Meeting on Monday the 6th of August. Nick Heywood rode MOROTAI to Victory in the opening event Race 1 followed by an AWESOME win from SORRY I’M AWESOME in Race 3. A big congratulations to the connections of these two horses and to our stable.

“At his hometown meeting and before a big crowd,trainer Brett Thompson landed the quinella in the 1200 metres Oatley Fine Wine- Gulgong Cup on Sunday and both horses were ridden by jockeys formerly from England.
More Than Art ( Billy Cray,$10 ) led most of the way to score by a length and a half from the more favoured stablemate Attalea ( James Rogers,$3.80 ) with two lengths to Desert Marshal ( Luke Cumberland,$8 ),the winner of the 2017 Gulgong Cup.
Brett Thompson at the Cup presentation made special mention of John “ Ripper “ Currie,a part owner of More Than Art,who throughout the year on a voluntary basis cares for the Gulgong track and also has a major role in helping Thompson with his big team of racehorses.
Multiple premiership winning trainer Brett Thompson had earlier supplied the first three placegetters in the 1000 metres Maiden Plate.
Named after Thompson’s granddaughter,Marley Girl ( Alena Skerritt, )was backed from $8 to $4.20 )before leading throughout to win by nearly four lengths from Brimondo ( Billy Cray, $5 ) and Starlight Treaty ( James Rogers,$5).”

Brett is very proud of his stable and staff and the work they put in. A testament to this is the fact that he has won the Central District Trainers Premiership for the last four years in a row.
In the last four years he has also won the Western Districts Trainers Premiership once, and been runners up three times.

Last Saturday the 24th of March Jake Pracey-Holmes rode “Attalea” to victory in the $12,000 Santos Narrabri Cup. The bay gelding led for most of the race to finish one-and-a-half lengths ahead of Nathan Sinclair’s “Deceitful Don” and Gavin Groth’s “About Time”. It was Attalea’s sixth career win and second in three starts. Congratulations to all of “Attalea’s” connections on the win.

We were very excited for LARYNX to win the 1310metre Maiden at Dubbo on the 10th of December 2018. This horse almost lost his life 9 months ago to pneumonia, It was great to see all of the owners stuck by this horse as we told them he had good ability and should have no troubles winning a race. It has been a long haul and a lot of patience has paid off. Greg Ryan believes LARYNX will win more than one race and could develop into a very good miler when he learns what racing is all about.

Slate on Edge takes out the Grey Series at Melbourne twice.

Slate On Edge has proven to be a fantastic horse for his owners and also the Thompson Stable. In 2014 Slate On Edge won the Melbourne Spring Carnival Grey Series, taking out the first metropolitan race at Moonee Valley on Manikato Stakes night.
He backed this up in 2015 when he returned to Melbourne for the Grey Series, taking it out for the second year with two seconds and a win on Oaks Day at Flemington.
