Mudgee has always been one of Bretts preferred tracks and his horses always seem to fire when racing there. New comer Sharp Note was having his 1st start in the 3YO SWP 1100m race and after trialling nicely it was terrific to see him take that form into the race and win comfortably for his connections. Come race 6 and Brett was again welcoming another winner and this time it was with the talented galloper Slate On Edge. This horse has had his share of problems in the past but credit to the team at Brett Thompson Racing they have taken their time with him as he was off the scene for almost 15 months and been able to get him not only back racing but back in the winners stall. Yesterdays win came after he ran 3rd 1st at Scone which was a very encouraging run and then to win yesterday makes all the effort put into the horse seem worth while.
Congratulations to all the owners in both Sharp Note and Slate On Edge on their wins and no doubt these two horses will be back in the winners enclosure very soon.
